Abstract

The paper describes the methodology for controlling the consistency of the geodetic basic 2D network for the construction of a large-scale hydropower system. The research was conducted on the case study of the network for the construction of the Dabar hydroelectric power plant, in an extremely complex karst area. The network was established by GNSS measurements using the relative static positioning method, and the control epoch of measurements using the same technology and methods was performed 10 years later. The results confirm that GNSS technology can achieve millimetre accuracy of horizontal coordinates of points in the network, and that centimetre displacements can be registered based on these measurements. The methodology is based on a processing, adjustment, and estimation of the accuracy of the network in two epochs, followed by testing the homogeneity of the epochs and determining the stability of the points by applying the deformation analysis method. It was concluded that the robust IWST method is suitable for this purpose. The research has shown that complete control of the geodetic network is important for achieving continuity of geodetic works, and that a sufficient number of stable points, even in complex areas, ensures the preservation of the datum and coordinate system of the network.
