This paper demonstrates the use of terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) to detect deflection in lattice steel girders inside a hall structure. Data were acquired using the Trimble TX8, producing a point cloud of over 349 million points. After registration and classification, the processed point cloud served as the basis for deflection analysis. Girder profiles were extracted from the point cloud data, and a regression curve was fitted to the measured points to describe the girder geometry. Deflection values were determined by comparing the measured geometry with an ideal straight reference line. Results confirm that TLS can identify subtle geometric changes while providing complete spatial coverage, reduced field time, and a rich digital archive for further analysis.
