Abstract

The UAV LiDAR terrain model provides accurate identification of various landslide-related features, with a specific emphasis on terrain discontinuities known as scarps. This research aims to develop a quantitative method for identifying scarps using terrain-profile analysis of UAV LiDAR DTM. The research considers two landslide-prone areas located in northern Croatia: Jakopovec and Laz Bistrički. The results show smooth slope geometry with one scarp area for Jakopovec and multiple slope break areas for Laz Bistrički. The terrain profile provides reliable differentiation between landslide-related scarps and drainage features. The research shows that terrain profile analysis is a simple and reliable method for identifying landslide-related scarps using UAV LiDAR technology.
