This study examines how architectural design education addresses environmental and social responsibility. Using New European Bauhaus (NEB) categories as a value framework, design results from two architecture schools were compared. It questions how students express environmental awareness and social responsibility, and how disciplinary autonomy can adapt to interdisciplinary expectations. Results show that NEB category Beautiful is deeply embedded, Together needs stronger pedagogical support, and Sustainability is least integrated, requiring more explicit, systematic inclusion. It was concluded that place-based concepts grounded in historical, social, and cultural specificity yield the most coherent responses, encompassing all NEB values simultaneously.
